“Up Your Sneaker Game… Absolutely Atrocious” – George Kittle Roasts Media Members For Wearing Ugly Shoes

With all of the criticism that professional athletes take from the media, it’s only right that sports figures get a chance to jab back at them.

George Kittle definitely feels that way, and decided to break into a “What are those?” moment during one of his recent press conferences. The talented San Francisco 49ers tight end is clearly calling out media members from a place of love. Only those that care about you the most will tell you that your shoe game needs to kick it up a notch (no foot pun intended there).

Apparently the shoe selection by those covering the 49ers is so bad that Kittle noticed it while he was practicing. If your shoes distract a pro athlete from what they are focused on, they must be horrible – we’re talking Air Monarch levels of bad shoe game. Kittle took a moment before the presser really got going to basically make a public service announcement towards those in the crowd:

“So you guys are out there at every practice. You guys watch us all the time, but there’s a special teams period where I catch the footballs, and I can observe you guys. And umm… you guys really need to up your sneaker game. It’s absolutely atrocious. He’s got some (Nike) Vomeros, those are fire, and Grant wears Vans every single day.”

As George was going along and pointing out specific shoes, the media member named Grant piped in and said he was actually wearing New Balances, not Vans. Kittle took a second to respond, then basically told the guy he was dead wrong – and that he was wearing Vans:

“New balances? They look like Vans. Yeah those are Vans. It’s okay, but you wear those everyday so I need you to switch those up. But I observe all of your guy’s shoes and I’m disappointed in you guys as a community. So if we could up those, please? It’s year eight guys, let’s figure this out together. Okay, no, it’s all you guys.”

Hey, if those in the media can write up a piece about Kittle needing to block pass rushers better, he can stand up at the podium and call them out for their ugly-ass shoes. It’s only fair.
