Wild raccoon versus domesticated wolverine... who ya got? I don't know if calling a wolverine in a zoo "domestic" is warranted, but you have to think that it's not as feisty as one that's out in the wild, right? Wolverines have a vicious reputation, known for being one of the most tenacious creatures in all of the Animal Kingdom. Pound for pound... the baddest. Pretty much everyone knows that a wild wolverine is nothing to be messed with - especially if its name is Hugh Jackman. Unfortunately for this wild raccoon, it found itself face to face with one when it fell into the wolverine exhibit at the Detroit Zoo. And from the very moment that the zoo animal recognized that it had an unwelcome, unannounced visitor, the fight was on. Now you've got to give some credit to the raccoon. It was small in stature, but its bravery was much bigger than its body. As they say, it's not always about the size of the animal in the fight. Instead, it's about the size of the fight in the animal. This raccoon held its own - and pulled out all of the stops - in this tense standoff with the zoo wolverine. Well, at least long enough for help to come... The raccoon apparently fended off the wolverine until a zoo keeper was able to enter into the exhibit and remove it. If you ask me, the raccoon earned a rightful spot somewhere in the zoo if they can find the space for it. Hell, it pretty much won the fight with the wolverine, so maybe it deserves to take over its exhibit? Check it out: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C-i4WyUSlMy/?igsh=MWt2MXd1aXFpaHAxcw== Good for that raccoon... While it's worth giving some credit to the little masked bandit, as I said earlier, those on social media were quick to call out the wolverine for not living up to it's violent nature. They left all kinds of comments below the post calling out the wolverine for not taking care of business - and also gave some shoutouts to the raccoon:
"Goes to show how soft zoo animals are because ain’t no way a wild raccoon would have a chance against a wild wolverine." "Wolverine prolly ain’t never seen a raccoon a day in his life." "That wolverine is trying to see what the raccoon is more than anything. It would definitely kill it if it felt threatened." "Raccoon is lucky that’s not a wild wolverine. Spectators would have seen a different show." "That’s a Detroit raccoon... he's about that action."
