Turning to a familiar face for his next music video. Zach Bryan set the bar high for music videos with his last entry, his "Nine Ball" music video starring Matthew McConaughey. The video, which also starred Tye Sheridan and Scott Shepherd, was written by Zach himself and features McConaughey showing his son the ropes of shooting pool, with the son growing up to become a pool shark on his own as the video goes on. It was a cinematic masterpiece, and surely one that Zach's going to have a hard time topping with his next single. So for this one, he apparently decided to bring in a different writer: His girlfriend, Barstool Sports personality Brianna Chickenfry. Brianna (whose real name is Brianna LaPaglia), revealed on her TikTok account that Zach let her write his next music video, which is going to be for "Oak Island" from his latest album
The Great American Bar Scene. According to Brianna, Zach let her pick the song she wanted to write a music video - so she chose her favorite song on the album. And "Oak Island" the perfect song for a music video, telling the story of a guy who leaves work to go take care of some "boys out on Oak Island" who are after his brother. But on his way, he stops at a bar and realizes that his brother has actually joined that crowd - so the narrator ends up laying a beatdown on him himself to keep him from running around with the wrong people. Brianna also revealed that they were able to cast "one of her bestest friends" as one of the lead actors, who would be working alongside "a legend." And she could barely contain her excitement as she spoke a little bit about how the treatment for the video came together:
"We sat on the bus and wrote this music video, I don't know, three months ago. A few months ago. And it's going to be executed to a tee of everything that I envisioned, that Zach envisioned. You guys are going to be flabbergasted, because the cast is amazing, the song...it's just going to be awesome, I'm so excited." They're also bringing back the same director, Matthew Dillon Cohen (known as Bongo), who directed the "Nine Ball" music video. And they're currently in the process of filming now, so hopefully it won't be too long before we get to see the finished product.
