Kid Rock Couldn’t Resist Jumping On Stage With The Band At His Nashville Bar To Sing “Old Time Rock & Roll”

When you're from Michigan and you hear somebody singing Seger, you've got to join in. I don't make the rules. Of course Bob Seger got his start in the Detroit music scene before bursting onto the national scene with hits like "Night Moves," "Turn the Page," "Against The Wind" and, of course, "Old Time Rock & Roll." And Kid Rock also got his start in the Motor City, coming up through the Detroit hip hop scene in his home state of Michigan. Obviously Kid Rock counts Seger as not only an influence on his career but also as a friend now, and has spoken about the lessons he's taken from getting close to the rock and roll legend: "He’s comfortable in his own skin. He’s made his mark on the business and he’s happy with his success. You see these other aging rockers, and they still gotta be in the limelight all the time. They wanna walk in and create a scene, and it takes them three hours to get ready to leave the house. That seems like a nightmare to me. So when I look at Bob Seger, I’m like, “That’s the person I’d like to follow in this journey.”" So naturally, when ol' Bob Ritchie was hanging out at his Nashville bar last night and heard the band strike up some Seger, he couldn't help himself and had to hop on stage. Kid Rock seemed to be on his best behavior this time, which isn't always the case when he takes the stage at his bar. But things didn't get out of hand, he didn't go on any political rants, and he even gave the saxophone player the spotlight for a killer solo. (Seriously, why don't more bands on Broadway have sax players?)
