Get your morning brew before firing up that new album. Lainey Wilson just dropped her fifth studio album, Whirlwind, on Friday. And to celebrate, the Queen of Bell Bottom Country stopped by her local coffee shop to treat her fellow patrons to a cup of their morning brew. Visitors to the Starbucks in Franklin, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville on Friday got a surprise when they got to the shop to find that Lainey had opened a tab so they could enjoy a coffee on her. It's only appropriate that Lainey named her latest album Whirlwind, after the journey that she's been on these past few years. From her breakout album
Sayin' What I'm Thinkin' in 2021 to winning Entertainer of the Year at both the CMA Awards and the ACM Awards, it's certainly been a whirlwind for the Louisiana native these past few years. And the new album not only showcases the talent that's made Lainey into one of the biggest stars in country music, but she says that she feels like she leveled up even more with this one: “I’m learning how to just trust myself. Not that I haven’t trusted myself in the past, but I’ve also learned that go in different places. I mean, this year we’ve already toured Australia, UK, Europe, and I get to meet so many different types of people from all over. And the more I do that, the more I realize that we all actually have a lot more in common than you think. And I think I’ve learned to just to lean into those things and not be scared to stay true to myself. Of course, stay true to my story and my roots, but not be scared to color outside of the lines.
I don’t want to play things safe. I think you should show that you’re growing and changing. And I think for the most part, with this record, we do have that constant thing that has worked for us. But I think we just leveled up.” One thing's for sure: Lainey's momentum is showing no signs of slowing down. Good thing she's got a coffee shop nearby she can go to when she needs a caffeine kick.
