The ‘Terrifier 3’ Trailer Teases A Bloody Christmas As The Ultimate Underdog Movie Franchise Keeps Raising The Bar

Even though it's the goriest, bloodiest, most viscerally disturbing horror franchise that I've ever come across, the Terrifier series is a cinematic Cinderella story that could serve as real-life inspiration for anyone, even if the contents of the films aren't for them. The first Terrifier
movie was made on an estimated budget of $55,000. Damien Leone directed, wrote, produced, edited, and did the makeup/special effects. He wore all those hats again for the latest installment and for Terrifier 2. That released in select theaters in 2022 on a $250,000 budget — and made $15.7 million at the box office. Armed with almost 10 times the money to make Terrifier 3 — though $2 million is still peanuts in a world where comic book movie budgets balloon over $300 million — I can only imagine what Leone will come up with this time around. We have the first trailer for Terrifier 3
just a month out from its release, and let's just say the extra money looks like it'll go to good use. https://twitter.com/TerrifierFilm/status/1828795345087992099 And by "good" use, I mean if you're into the sort of gruesome deaths that Leone has innovated and executed in front of the camera that would be enough to make anyone's stomach turn. Leone also isn't afraid to mash up genres inside the larger horror canvas he's painting on (with lots of blood). Without spoiling in case any of ye uninitiated want to check this series out, Terrifier 2 waded into superhero-centric territory with Lauren LaVera's character, Sienna Shaw. However, that was well motivated by the supernatural evil that is the franchise's iconic villain, Art the Clown, as portrayed by David Howard Thornton. There is no level our guy Art will not stoop to. This may sound ridiculous to say: He rivals Stephen King's Pennywise as the scariest killer clown to ever grace the silver screen, or really fiction in general. Each
Terrifier movie has a lot of death at Art's hands. However, there is one iconic kill from the first movie, and another super-elaborate, totally f**ked up murder in the sequel that have me shuddering at what Leone might've cooked up with by far his biggest budget yet. This trailer is a good entry point into the trilogy. You get a little tease of what happened in Terrifier 2 at the start without spoiling it. It's clearly set around Christmas, as Art is in his best Santa getup. And you get an idea of the immense gore that's come to define these uber-indie flicks. I will say, the footage here is about 95% tamer than what I've seen in the first two movies. In other words, if you're a horror fan, are morbidly curious to see how grisly a horror film can be, or just want to support a filmmaker who's realized his wildest dreams on the smallest budgets you've ever heard of, you won't want to miss
Terrifier 3 in theaters. The first one is a little over an hour long and can be seen in full below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Yxanyc2QO8&pp=ygUJdGVycmlmaWVy
