Dak Prescott Says He Stopped Listening To What Jerry Jones Says To The Media: “It Doesn’t Hold Weight With Me”

How about them Cowboys? Usually they wait until the postseason to implode on themselves, but it appears that Dallas is getting an early start this year as the team's owner and General Manager, Jerry Jones, and the team's franchise quarterback, Dak Prescott, traded nasty, verbal jabs with one another today. To put things blatantly, Jerry Jones has been on one
this offseason. Not only did he fail to make any big free agent moves (yet still claimed that he and the Cowboys were "all in" this season ), he also went on an expletive-riddled rant saying that he's the only person alive that could be the general manager of the Cowboys. Needless to say, some of the issues that are arising could be alleviated by Jones just not talking to the media as much. But the Cowboys owner apparently loves to do so, and also doesn't mind stirring the pot when he does so either. Earlier today, he was asked about what he would need to see out of his QB, Dak Prescott, to give him an extension. Jones replied with this: "You could easily say, if you haven't seen it by now, you haven't seen it."
Yikes... That could easily be one of those things where a team owner is just trying to fire up their franchise quarterback, but it seems like the shtick has gotten really old (like Jerry Jones), really fast in Dallas. Prescott was later asked by reporters about the quote, and he made it clear that he's completely blocked out anything Jerry Jones has to say: "I stopped, honestly, listening to things (Jerry Jones) says to the media a long time ago. It doesn’t really hold weight with me." https://twitter.com/BleacherReport/status/1829264113777693118 To quote Dak Prescott's snap cadence, "HERE WE GO." It should be exciting to see how the Dallas Cowboys start out the year - and if they implode before they even get to the postseason. On the plus side, they did lock up their star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb for another 4-years (and $136 million), and they have one of the most dynamic backfields in the NFL... if this was the 2018-29 NFL season. https://twitter.com/ChargersRuined/status/1828805109763223963
