Pat McAfee To Pay WVU Student’s Tuition After Knicks Guard Deuce McBride Drained A Shot Over Top Of The Crowd

Starting out the weekend with a win already. Morgantown, West Virginia was BUZZING today as former WVU kicker Pat McAfee brought his ESPN show to broadcast live from campus ahead of the Mountaineers' season opener against #8 ranked Penn State tomorrow. McAfee is already a legend at WVU, holding the record as the all-time leading scorer for the Mountaineers (a record that he set during a game against my team, not that I'm still salty about it or anything). And now that he's become one of the most popular personalities in sports media, it was only right for McAfee to return home as WVU opens their season with one of their biggest games of the year. And as much as they already love Pat up in Morgantown, I have a feeling that one guy is his biggest fan after today. During the show, Pat brought out former WVU basketball player, and current guard for the New York Knicks, Miles "Deuce" McBride. And he decided to put Deuce on the spot and give him a chance to help out a fellow Mountaineer. With a hoop set up in the middle of the crowd, McAfee offered to pay the tuition for a WVU student named Logan, a junior who had been lined up for the show since 6 AM if Deuce could hit a bucket. It took him a couple tries to feel out the basket, but on his third shot at what Deuce estimated was a little longer than a half court shot, he managed to drain it over top of the crowd, sending Mountaineer fans into a frenzy - and no doubt thrilling Logan, who's now getting his tuition paid by Pat McAfee. https://twitter.com/PatMcAfeeShow/status/1829575420230189148
