German Shepherd Dances Around With Wild Black Bear In Vermont Backyard

Imagine wondering where your dog is, then looking into your backyard to see it do-si-do-ing with a wild black bear. That's exactly what happened to Jenn Sargent, a resident in Vermont who had the shock of a lifetime when she saw her pet German shepherd, Jameson, playing around with a younger bruin. Luckily, the bear and the dog were more interested in playing with one another than they were legitimately fighting. According to the story, Sargent's neighbor alerted her that the bear was in her backyard, along with her dog. First off, go ahead and give Jenn's neighbor the "Neighbor of the Year" award. The Neighborhood Watch in Vermont is apparently for real. And I can only imagine what the phone call must have sounded like: "Hey Jenn! This might be the third glass of Cabernet talking, but I'm about 95% sure that your dog is in your backyard. It looks like a scene straight out of a Disney movie. Just thought I'd let you know!" It's funny to see the juvenile bear and the energetic dog interact with one another. Both seem to be just as surprised as the other, and making the most of their impromptu backyard playdate. Throughout the clip, the bear cub stands up on its hind legs as the German shepherd runs around excitedly, and the two animals also exchange a fair amount of sniffs. Thanks to a security camera pointed out in the backyard, this entire wild interaction was caught on camera. And it's a good thing that it was, because it's one of those encounters that's hard to believe even with video evidence.
