Terrible news. Ricky Pearsall, the rookie wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers, was shot this afternoon in San Francisco during a robbery attempt. Pearsall was shot in Union Square, and is reportedly in stable condition. The former wide receiver started his college career at Arizona State before transferring to finish his career with the Florida Gators. He was the 31st overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft after being taken in the first round by the 49ers. Since being drafted, Pearsall has struggled with a subluxed shoulder, an injury that he first suffered during his junior season in Gainesville. But he recently returned to practice with the team, with the 49ers hoping that he's able to avoid undergoing surgery on the injury until the offseason.
