Koe Wetzel Shares Beautiful Acoustic Video Of “Casamigos” Ahead Of Release This Friday

Stripping it back. Today, Koe Wetzel shared an acoustic video of his new song "Casamigos," which will be out everywhere this Friday. We really don't get to hear this more simple side of Koe too often, as he's obviously known for his heavy, rock-infused and generally very loud, in-your-face sound, which makes a video like this all the more exciting and intriguing. "Casamigos" was written by Koe along with Amy Allen, Sam Harris, Ben Burgess and Gabe Simon, and has taken on a life of its own with the fans since Koe first teased it before his album 9 Lives came out, and many were upset when it was replaced on the tracklist for Koe’s cover of the late rapper XXXTENTACION’s “Depression & Obsession.” I suspect there might of been some sort of licensing or legal issue they had to get sorted out with the title, but who knows... but the fans are certainly ready to hear the full studio cut. I loved the sound of “Casamigos” even in the first short teaser Koe shared (I’ve also heard the studio version, and I think it will put up massive streaming numbers once it’s out), so expect this to become another fast fan-favorite, which it pretty much already is, and I know I'll certainly have it on repeat. And when you hear the song in its most simple form, with just Koe and an acoustic guitar and none of the usual bells and whistles, it's easy to understand why people have taken to it so strongly. I could stand to hear plenty of his other songs like this... it's too good.
