Another new one from Parker McCollum . The Gold Chain Cowboy is gearing up to drop a new single Friday, "What Kinda Man," but that looming release date is not keeping him from teasing more new music. Parker McCollum has told fans via social media that he is in the process of recording his
fifth studio album , and with that comes sitting on a goldmine of new music. https://twitter.com/ParkerMcCollum/status/1770283907369320476?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1770283907369320476%7Ctwgr%5Eb69bc5e54a92c81df8caa3653cffa209e683de6c%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.whiskeyriff.com%2F2024%2F03%2F20%2Fthis-record-is-the-best-ive-put-together-parker-mccollum-says-his-5th-studio-album-is-in-the-works%2F Many fans are hoping that McCollum's release of "What Kinda Man" is the first single of his rolling out of the new project, and after hearing this unreleased ditty, I hope this one is a forthcoming single from the record, too. Last night, while on Instagram Live, McCollum was messing around with his guitar. After a few minutes, he put on his harmonica and tested out a new one, seemingly called "Jet Plane," for those who tuned in. After changing the K-po on his guitar to match the note of the harmonica was in, he started filling his lungs with air to make the wind instrument kick off the intro. As the harmonica wines the introduction of the tune, he softly stums his guitar, keeping a slow and melancholy melody. As McCollum performs the song, it's apparent that he is working through some of the lyrics as he sings, asking himself how certain lines should go or working through aspects of the melody and how he wants to finalize the track. Even though this might be a rough performance, the song sounds like it will be a heater. The lyrics of "Jet Plane" highlight a man who feels himself falling for a girl, hoping that his heart is ready to take flight and entirely fall for this woman.
"There's a jet plane Leaving Georgia late tonight And I hope my heart isn't afraid to fly If you need me like I need you In my life There's a jet plane Leaving Georgia late tonight..." I can't wait to hear the final version of this song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys3jfBbHRzg If you're still itching to hear some more unreleased music from Parker McCollum, check out another called "Big Fancy House," which he debuted at Kyle Field.
