Jon Bon Jovi is a lifesaver. The legendary rock star's music has certainly helped in the lives of many music fans over the years, but this time around, Jon Bon Jovi quite literally reached out to someone in need and likely saved their life. This is one of those moments where you can call him a rock star in every sense of the word. The Metro Nashville Police Department shared a message earlier today, along with incredible security camera video, that showed the "Livin' On A Prayer" singer walking up to someone that had climbed over the railing of the Downtown Nashville pedestrian bridge (that connects the Lower Broadway area to Nissan Stadium) and appeared to be contemplating a jump. Jon Bon Jovi just so happened to be in the area (filming for a music video), and from watching the footage, he didn't hesitate to walk up to the struggling individual to talk to her. After a minute or so of conversation, Bon Jovi and the person he was with helped to bring the woman back over the railing and safely onto the bridge - and the two can be seen embracing just feet from where the woman had been standing over the water. The Metro Nashville Police Department shared this message along with a link to the video of the potentially life saving interaction:
"A shout out to Jon Bon Jovi and his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge Tuesday night. Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety." https://twitter.com/MNPDNashville/status/1833970989354348832 Incredible. This just goes to show that anyone and everyone can step in to become an everyday hero. This time around, it just so happened to be Jon Bon Jovi walking by. As Police Chief John Drake of the MNPD stated in the post above: "It takes all of us to help keep each other safe." You can view the harrowing moment that Jon Bon Jovi talked a woman off of the ledge in the video below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zceIVUafhI If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of suicide, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK (8255) or text Crisis Text Line at 741741.
