The next chapter for Kip Moore . Today, he announced a new partnership with Virgin Music Group, after leaving his longtime label MCA Nashville earlier this year. He initially said he would release his next album independently, though after starting the process on his own and having conversations with Virgin, as well as other labels, he decided that working with a team like them was the perfect fit for his next move and musical direction:
"I’m a firm believer that this life is what you make it and is enhanced by the people you surround yourself with. I see this next chapter of my career as an opportunity to keep building this thing brick by brick. I was making this record independently when I began having the initial conversations with Virgin and other record labels. It was ultimately the tangible passion from Virgin Music Group that made me want to team up and see where we could take this next chapter. There is a trust and a freedom in what I do and I can feel that from this team." Kip also announced today that he is putting out his first new single in almost two years, "Live Here To Work," next Friday, September 20th. He says he plans on putting out more new music than ever before going forward, and I can't wait to hear the fresh sound he's been working on:
"The fans are going to be getting more music from me than ever before. The first track from this project is a song called ‘Live Here To Work.’ It pushes the envelope a bit, but we wanted to come out swinging.” Kip's five albums released with MCA all reached the top 5 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, and he scored five top 5 songs on the Country Airplay chart during his time there, including his huge #1 hit in 2011, "Somethin’ ‘Bout a Truck." The first new song with Virgin was co-produced by Jaren Johnston (Keith Urban, Chris Shiflett, Darius Rucker), and he shared a short teaser of it on Instagram yesterday: https://www.instagram.com/p/C_vjdmRg9C6/ Kip most recently released his fifth studio album Damn Love in early 2023, and has been teasing album #6 for a while now, which is likely coming very soon and is already finished. https://www.instagram.com/p/C_0kZwpg9ni/ He will kick off the U.S. leg of his
Nomad World Tour this fall in Columbia, South Carolina, which will run through December, ending with a show in Boston, Massachusetts.
