Talk about sticking the landing. A scary scene played out in Indianapolis, Indiana recently when a cyclist named Jakob Morales got hit by a driver that wasn't paying attention. For his own safety, Morales had a camera mounted on his bike, which captured the scary incident in its entirety. In the clip, the cyclist is traveling on the right side of the road when the tan vehicle crosses over to turn and makes direct contact with Morales. The cyclist, unable to avoid the crash, goes flying off his bike and falls into the car's windshield, shattering it. Miraculously, Morales was able to regain his balance and land upright on his feet as the car came to a stop. And the bike camera just so happened to fall in the right direction, capturing it all on camera. You'd think that a cracked windshield would warrant the driver of the car to stop, but as you'll see in the video, they just keep on going. All while Morales - still trying to wrap his mind around what happened - is yelling at them:
"What the f***? Are you kidding me right now? Can you please come back here? Please don't hit me and run man." At one point, the car stops a little ways down the road, but it eventually drives off without checking on Morales or exchanging information. The cyclist was going to try and go after them, but his ride was too damaged to get back up in hot pursuit, as Morales told Inside Edition : "I tried to chase them down, but my bike was out of commission." Not only is it wild that Morales was able to land on his feet and came out of the crash virtually unscathed (minus a couple of scratches and bruising from the windshield impact), the fact that his camera fell to the ground in just the right way and caught it all on video is also incredible. Morales might not want to relive the moment, but he can since he has it on tape:
"You could see it in my face. In the moment, it was just pure terror. I braced, I ended up on the hood, and miraculously landed on my feet... I really am lucky to be alive." Make sure you are always looking out for bikes on the road, that way situations like these (even though this guy ended up being alright) can be avoided: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4OBpm6ccsI
