The Next Evolution In Sports Gambling? Minnow Racing

Just when you think you've gambled on everything, another opportunity presents itself. These Thunder Bay residents (coolest city name ever?) in Ontario, Canada might have created one of the most exhilarating, high-stakes, fishing-adjacent activities the world has ever seen. And as they've proven in this short clip, it's a sport that can be gambled on - and who doesn't love putting their hard earned cash in the fins of little minnows? The premise is simple. Much like any sophisticated race you may watch, each minnow is assigned its own lane. A gate keeps the little swimmers at bay in the shallow water, and once it's raised, the competition is on. Whichever minnow accidentally swims down to the other side and crosses the drawn line wins. Basically the Minnow Kentucky Derby. You might be reading this and thinking, "What's so special?" First off, if you are feeling that way, I'm sorry that the light has left your eyes. Hopefully you can tap into the childlike imagination that used to course through all of us and find the simple, absurd joy that comes from watching minnows race against each other. But if you can't find the excitement in my written words, maybe you'll feel different when you actually watch the race: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_ZXcZENlgD/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link That's some off-track betting alright. Imagine getting some buddies together and throwing back brewskis and wagering units on minnows that have no idea what they are actually doing. These people that live on or near Lake Superior certainly seemed to be having a superior time doing so. If I'm being honest with you, I see a legitimate future for minnow racing. It might not be as big of an industry as, let's say, the NFL, but it could really become a popular way to pass the time while fishing. Seems like everyone in the comments section agrees with me (and said that the guy who interfered with his hand ruined the race):
"I would call finger interference on bro. Push the whole race." "Hilarious redneck games." "How does one bet on this on FanDuel ? Asking for a friend." "I'm glad we're all against finger pointing guy." "This would ruin me financially."
