Country Music Fans Reveal Their Worst Concert Experiences: “Left After 45 Minutes Of It”

When you pay your hard-earned money to go see your favorite artist perform, it's only natural that you want to get your money's worth. So how can you make sure - or at least help your chances - to see a good country music concert? In my opinion, you've got to go to the most trustworthy place on the internet and hear first-hand experiences from people. That's right. I'm talking about Reddit. Sure enough, there was an entire thread already dedicated to fans of the country music genre speaking on some of the least favorite concerts they've attended. And it all started with one post from a Reddit user named "ilovemathmatics174." They kicked things off by giving a not-so-friendly shoutout to Blake Shelton, and to keep things authentic
, I didn't change their grammar mistake: "I just seen Blake Shelton the other day and my god, it was boring! I have seen many others in the past and no concert was as lame as this one! I had relatively low expectations but not THIS low! What is your most disappointing show?" That's a great question. And that's the beauty of Reddit. One person has a talking point they find interesting, they post it, and then the thread runs wild with all kinds of responses. I did you the favor of scrolling through and scoping out some of the more interesting "bad country concert stories" that were posted: "Most disappointing by far was Brooks & Dunn shortly before they broke up. Ronnie 'was sick' and would just disappear mid song and stay gone a while. Kix tried to save it but you could tell he was exasperated."
"I saw Martina McBride a few years ago at our local county fair. She sucked. It was like it was beneath her to be performing there. Her meet and greet was horrible, we were not allowed to speak to her. Just take a picture and move on. Such a disappointment." "Shooter Jennings. He just seemed like he would have rather been anywhere else the entire show. Went with my wife, we both felt disappointed." "Saw Tim McGraw about 10 years ago and expected at least to see a decent concert, but instead saw the worst concert ever." "Hardy in October 2023. He was screaming so much of the time there was no way to enjoy it. So many people around me started off singing and dancing and then they all started sitting down and the place was just quiet. Even when he sang his most popular songs, no one really got into it because he was just screaming the lyrics. We finally left after 45 min of it."
"Warren Zeiders has zero stage presence, very arrogant, lot of quiet and dark pauses between songs, weird mic vocal effects. One of only two shows I’ve ever left early." "Hank Williams Jr. Would do maybe 30 seconds to a min of a son and change it up. All it wanted to do was brag on himself." "I left a Lee Brice concert when he showed up drunk and singing terribly." "Little Big Town sounded pretty terrible live. A lot of songs sounded like a cover band." "Stapleton.. amazing song writer, vocalist and musician, but terrible stage presence!" Huh? What, do you want him to dance for you? "Josh Turner. This voice is phenomenal. But the concert was so incredibly boring. It was very religious too."
"I saw Midland and the frontman was so shitfaced that he would talk for minutes about pretty much nothing between every song." "Jason Aldean at the Hollywood bowl. He sounds just like he does on the radio but has the stage presence of a broom pole." "Brothers Osborne. Corny AF. Singer has zero charisma, and the guitarist is annoying." And then perhaps the craziest one: "Brad Paisley. Played about 87 guitar solos, then started and ended every song with guitar solos." I'll admit that a Brad show might be boring for other reasons, but imagining watching one of the premiere guitar players in country music history, and one of the best pure guitar players in all of music right now, and being mad because he shreds too hard? C'mon, dude... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tH5NDXRlfu4
