It just means more. Of course much of the southeast is dealing with the effects of Hurricane Helene, after the Category 4 storm made landfall last night in Florida and devastated parts of Florida, Georgia and even up into North Carolina. But it also happens to be Bama-Georgia weekend. The Georgia Bulldogs are headed to Tuscaloosa tomorrow to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide, in a game that will no doubt have College Football Playoff implications - along with SEC bragging rights. Of course getting to Tuscaloosa from Georgia might be a little tough for some Dawgs fans right now who are dealing with floods. But luckily one guy had a friend with an inflatable raft to make sure he made it to Bryant-Denny for kickoff. WSB anchor Alison Mastrangelo was reporting on the flooding when she came across a guy carrying the float - who informed her that he was going to rescue his friend, who was blocked in by a flooded road, so they could head to Tuscaloosa for the game. The reporter was skeptical, but the fan was at least going to try:
"We're about to find out. It says it can hold 410 pounds." https://twitter.com/AlisonWSB/status/1839713013156155721 Well as it turns out, his plan worked. They both fit in the raft, and made it safely to dry land - in plenty of time to get on the road to Alabama. But the cameraman decided to have a little fun with the friends before they set off on their journey: "Did you hear that the game got canceled?" Nah, if these guys can make it to Tuscaloosa, the football team can too. https://twitter.com/AlisonWSB/status/1839717505587122293 Never tell me that it doesn't just mean more to SEC fans. This is some dedication. Now we just need McAfee to talk to these guys tomorrow on College GameDay to find out how the rest of the trip went.
