The Internet Is Shocked By This Woman Who’s Angry That She Can’t Get A Refund For Her “Mountain Vacation” While NC Deals With Catastrophic Flooding

Got bigger problems than your vacation, lady. I'm sure you've seen by now, but the videos and images coming out of North Carolina are absolutely devastating. Entire towns have been washed away and hundreds of people are still missing after catastrophic floods ripped through the area from Hurricane Helene. The death toll is already over 100 and will likely get much higher as the waters recede and rescuers are able to move into the devastated areas, with as many as 600 people still unaccounted for. Interstates have collapsed, thousands upon thousands are stranded in their flooded homes, and aid workers are working to deliver supplies to those in need by helicopter and even by mule. And one woman's VERY concerned...about getting a refund for her vacation. In a video posted to TikTok, the woman (who lives in North Carolina herself) goes on a long-winded rant about how she cancelled her "mountain vacation" due to the storms and now she can't get a refund:
"You pay X amount of dollars to go on a vacation with friends or with family, you expect to have a vacation. Not trying to figure out your way around barricades. Not worrying about what's going to be open, what's not going to be open... I have five days to cancel this reservation and only get a partial refund. A partial refund, after a $2,500 trip for a week with my family of six?" Lady, they've got bigger problems than refunding your vacation right now. The whole city is underwater, many don't have cell service and can't communicate to even let their family know that they're safe...and you're clogging up the phone lines trying to get a refund on your AirBnb? As it turns out, the explanation that she's been given from the property manager is that they must first contact the homeowner before issuing a refund. Seems like a reasonable policy, whatever. But this lady doesn't seem to want to wait, despite the fact that there's a good chance the homeowner doesn't even have cell service right now - and who knows if they even have a home. And just when you think she's about to express SOME sympathy and patience for the situation - well, that's not what she does:
"Do not misunderstand me. I understand completely...cancellation policies. House rules. I do this for a living. But when a natural disaster out of everybody's hands hit, I expect some sort of accommodation. Some sort of communication. Some sort of understanding." Unbelievable. The lack of self-awareness in demanding "some sort of understanding" while showing a complete lack of remorse or understanding for the thousands of people who are suffering right now is just incredible. And sure enough, the internet is letting her have it: "Sorry for your issues. I've spent hours on the phone trying to to find out if my families house is still standing or if the are still alive so I feel your frustration." "How about giving them some patience!? The entitlement you are showing is gross."
"People are killing other people cause they are so scared about food! Communication? Really! They don’t have phone, wifi, cars, NOTHING!!!! Fuck your vacation forreal!! It’s a WARZONE!!!!" "People died. People lost EVERYTHING. Who cares about your vacation." "Respectfully…..your cancelled vacation is the least of anyone in western NC concern." The woman then posted a follow-up video after her video "struck a few nerves," but instead of apologizing for her entitlement during a natural disaster, she defended herself and once again blasted the company for not issuing the refund immediately. And when that one didn't go over well either, she decided to just post another video mocking those who were mad: I guess you can't teach empathy. But when thousands of people are still suffering, it's still pretty incredible that people can still be this self-centered.

So let’s cancel her for doing what most of you morons would. Just because she was dumb enough to put it on the internet. Tone deaf for sure, but wishing her harm is on another level, get real people. You have all made mistakes too!
