More often than not, though, opposing pitchers had no choice but to try to outfox him. I think it's in sort of poor taste to mention the gambling scandal Rose was at the center of, which didn't have to do with teams he played for, but which earned him a lifetime ban from baseball. Considering Rose is, beyond reproach, one of the greatest baseball players to ever do it, he deserves a spot in the Hall of Fame. They've let in a lot of guys who did steroids in the steroid era. Sports betting is legal and rampant across the country at this point. Maybe it's time to give a little ground, honor Rose's legacy, and put him in the Hall.
