Kristin Cavallari is opening up about the split. Over the weekend, while appearing at a
Call Her Daddy live show, Kristin Cavallari told the audience that she and her 24-year-old TikTok-famous boyfriend have
called it quits . At the show's time, she told fans it was "very fresh" and that she would announce it and dive deeper into the why on her podcast.
Fast forward a few days. Here we are, and the podcast episode is out. At the start of 2024, Kristin Cavallari
launched her new relationship on social media with Montana Boyz member Mark Estes. From the get-go, Cavallari faced a lot of heat for the relationship due to their age gap, but as she remained open with fans about how their relationship was progressing, the commentary did not stop. She got flack when she said she would have
children with him , asking him
"why he waited so long" to get into a relationship and many other questions that made her fans question the relationship's longevity. As someone who has covered this relationship thoroughly from the public lens and is still on the younger side of their twenties, it even made me question it, not because she was with a younger man but because of their life phases. Cavallari is a very successful businesswoman and a mother, while Estes is a recent college graduate who just moved to a new city and makes money showing off his abs. Something about the pair just screamed "not end game" from the beginning. On Cavallari's
Let's Be Honest podcast, she opened up about how she broke things off with Estes.
"I broke up with Mark because I just know, long term, it's not right. It's not because of love lost or something bad happened; no one cheated, and no one was mean... Mark didn't do anything. Mark has been nothing but so sweet and so supportive, and he's always been there. I mean he's really been...He's been the best boyfriend I've ever had." Fans can collectively breathe a sigh of relief to learn that no foul play ended the relationship. Cavallari then explains that she (like the collective did) that they are at different points in life.
"I just know long term, he needs to experience life. You know he's young, he is. I started to feel the age a little bit with life experience." Cavallari reflects on how much she has changed since she was 24 and how those formative years helped shape her into the woman she is today. Of course, she makes a little jab at the people that listen to that part and think, "No sh*t," acknowledging that she was very aware of the situation and that they were in such different phases when they first got together. She then gets a little choked up, talking about how the relationship was beautiful and one of the best she's ever had due to the level of emotional maturity, communication, and shared love.
"It was such a good and happy relationship, and I think you learn and grow from every relationship. I will forever look back at Mark and me with such fond memories. Just pure happiness, that's what it was. So, this is not a bad thing, and I am optimistic that we will remain friends." Cavallari sounds like she is in a good headspace after the breakup, and we wish that to continue. Given that Mark Estes' relationship with Cavallari helped launch the Montana Boyz to a new level of fame, I'm very invested in seeing if the TikTok group keeps it up without her name attached.
