Huge news dropped today surrounding The Boys from Oklahoma, Cross Canadian Ragweed . Oklahoma State University's Boone Pickens Stadium announced they will host its first-ever concert, reuniting the legendary '90 red dirt band , Cross Canadian Ragweed. On April 12, 2025, Turnpike Troubadours will take the stage with further support from The Great Divide, Stoney LaRue, and Jason Boland & the Stragglers. It's set to be a night to remember in Stillwater, Oklahoma. https://twitter.com/OSUAthletics/status/1841131411010699317?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1841131411010699317%7Ctwgr%5E0f019ab7b3130539c8d04b717df3762ac023f8ae%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.oklahoman.com%2Fstory%2Fsports%2Fcollege%2Fcowboys%2F2024%2F10%2F01%2Fcross-canadian-ragweed-reunion-concert-oklahoma-state-nil-boone-pickens-stadium-turnpike-troubadors%2F75467639007%2F However, some fans might be upset to hear that proceeds from the reunion show will benefit OK State's NIL fund. After news of the concert broke, The
Oklahoman reported that proceeds from the concert would support OSU's NIL, and OSU athletic director Chad Weiberg confirmed that in a statement regarding the event. “We are excited to bring the first-ever concert to Boone Pickens Stadium this spring and look forward to hosting this fantastic Oklahoma-based lineup in the home of the Cowboys. We are grateful to the team at DMG for helping make this happen. This show will benefit OSU’s NIL efforts but will also be a great event for our student-athletes, student body, alumni, fans and the community of Stillwater.” Whatever portion of the proceeds that are intended for NIL use will go through Pokes With A Purpose, the NIL collective that orchestrates payments to OSU athletes. I guess the NCAA telling Mike Gundy that his players could not have a QR code on their helmets got the creative juices flowing for getting Ragweed back together. He knows what will get the folks of Oklahoma going and what will bring in some dollars. https://twitter.com/SXMCollege/status/1832140673220579801?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1832140673220579801%7Ctwgr%5E16c2f39ce67b38508521bcb324a72766e00443e8%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.si.com%2Ffannation%2Fname-image-likeness%2Fnil-news%2Foklahoma-state-s-mike-gundy-has-strong-take-on-helmet-qr-code-being-denied After Oklahoma State fans learned the concert would benefit the university's NIL fund, some social media users had funny thoughts. One thing is for sure: this concert will be a cash cow for OSU's NIL. https://twitter.com/InsideOKST/status/1841140609068724492 https://twitter.com/alison_renner/status/1841182115335192884 https://twitter.com/jacobunruh/status/1841136444246536286 https://twitter.com/sixfeetsmallOSU/status/1841153100712690032 https://twitter.com/MattAltick/status/1841140134810464664
