Well that's one way to do it... If you've been on social media at all this week, and especially TikTok, you've probably seen clips and interviews with a man in Florida who goes by the name
"Lieutenant Dan." The one-legged-man currently calls a 20-foot sailboat home, and he's apparently refusing to leave the area with Hurricane Milton looming, because God told him to come there in the first place. His argument is that he's on a boat, and when the water starts to rise, he and his sailboat will just rise with it:
Obviously, there's mandatory evacuation orders in the Tampa Bay area, where his boat is, in order to keep Floridians safe. I saw another video of a police officer stopping by the other night telling Dan he needed to leave, though as of this morning, he is still there in his boat.
But two guys who are also in the Tampa Bay area have posted a few TikTok videos talking to Dan, asking about his life, bringing him supplies, and obviously seeing if there's any way to get him to at least go to a shelter and get off this boat before the very dangerous hurricane hits directly where he is. And apparently, there is one condition in which Dan is happy to go stay at a hotel or somewhere like that: if he can have a woman to go with. You can't convince me that deep down, all men really aren't the same... and honestly, it seems like Dan's got some game to come up with that one:
Of course, hundreds of kind-hearted ladies filled the comments, so maybe he can find a nice Florida woman to ride Hurricane Milton out with (no pun intended, but I realize how that sounds in context while editing this...) Here's some of what they had to say:
"Dan, I'm so single and I fish." "Alright ladies, one of us needs to take one for the team here. Save Lt. Dan!" "Someone go get Dan and party it up in a hotel with him like they did on 'Forrest Gump'!" "Pimping Dan out!! That’s one way to get him off the boat!" "That's one way to get him out haha." "He said, the only way he’d leave is if he was with a woman at a room…. Protect this legend of a man at all costs." "Where we staying?" "The Red Roof Inn next to Denny's in St. Pete got everything for sale." "How long does it take to get from north Alabama" "I serve as tribute! let's get a room Lt. Dan." "I love this man." "He’d have to come to me but I’ll keep him safe and warm!' "I mean... Dan I need a vacay." "Let’s gooo." "I'm invested now and fly me there I'll stay in a room with him LOL." "I knew that's what it would take." "Hell I’ll come stay with him in a hotel till it clears up." "Women inspire men to action. Exhibit A." "If his courage doesn’t pull a women then us as men are cooked. Let’s go LT Dan." "Dan is thinking!!! Women will be coming from everywhere." "On my way! Dan let drink and celebrate through the hurricane." "My ex lives in Tampa she’ll prob sleep with him." "Bring Dan down south my roommate wants him." St ay safe out there, Dan... sounds like you have a lot of ladies who are more than willing to help you make it through the storm.
