What kind of piece of shit dog owner did this? The state of Florida is making final preparations as Hurricane Milton fast approaches the Sunshine State's coast. Cities along Florida's Gulf Coast have ordered evacuations as the hurricane remains a Category 4 and is projected to be one of the strongest to ever hit the coast. With officials issuing harsh warnings to anybody who decides to stay behind and ride out the storm, it seems that most people have decided to listen to the advice and evacuate before Milton hits. But of course there are some (like Lieutenant Dan ) who have stayed behind to ride it out. And unfortunately for one furry friend, there are pets who were left behind by their owners with no way of getting to safety. The Florida Highway Patrol shared a heartbreaking video of troopers rescuing a poor dog that was chained to a fence on the side of the road as the storm approached. The officers attempted to calm the dog, who was already standing in water up to its belly, while pleading with residents not to be like whoever did this to their poor pup: https://twitter.com/FHPTampa/status/1844036069219574083 And I understand that it's an emergency and a life or death situation, but to not only leave your dog behind, but to leave it chained up to a fence where it has no chance of survival? Absolutely makes my blood boil. Luckily these troopers were able to get it to safety, and hopefully it ends up with better owners after the storm passes.

The dog was returned to its owner. Poor decision. They should not have gotten her back. IMO
