The blockbuster in-season trade anyone with a brain could see coming came to fruition today. Davante Adams fled the dysfunction of the Las Vegas Raiders for the slightly more appealing dysfunction of the New York Jets. He also said a lot of the verbiage in the Jets' offense is familiar to him, so he should be able to pick up where he left off with Rodgers. The dynamic duo last played together in Green Bay during Rodgers' second consecutive MVP campaign in 2021. Since then it's been a lot of disappointment for Davante. From Las Vegas unceremoniously kicking Derek Carr to the curb to the frustrations of playing with Jimmy Garoppolo, the grass was not greener in Las Vegas. Now he'll join forces with Rodgers for Gang Green. Back in July, I covered a clip of Davante getting ticked off at Jimmy G's incompetence , and ended that article with the following passage: "Although Davante is stuck in Sin City for the 2024 campaign due to his contract structure, he has zero guaranteed dollars in the final two years of his deal after that. Reuniting with Rodgers on the Jets seems inevitable." If I may say so... I feel like defenses are going to be in a pretzel trying to guard Davante and Garrett Wilson, never mind that Breece Hall showed signs of life with 113 rushing yards against the Bills.
