Colorado Man Running Late For Work Throws His Starbucks At An Elk On The Sidewalk To Get It To Move

What an idiot... We've seen time and time again when people decide to try to take on wild animals. And spoiler alert: It never ends well for the humans. A fully grown elk can weigh over 1,000 pounds, and their sharp antlers are an excellent weapon of choice. All that weight behind some head-mounted puncturing tools can easily do some damage, though generally an elk’s antlers are used to defend themselves. And this one seemed like he was ready to defend himself from a Colorado man who was upset that the elk was blocking his path to work. Video shows a man from Evergreen, Colorado who had apparently made a quick stop at Starbucks on his way to work, when he encountered the massive elk on the sidewalk. The man yells at the creature to move, but eventually the elk turns around and starts charging towards him. As he's retreating, he decides to sacrifice his morning caffeine and instead throws the Starbucks drinks at the elk - instead of, you know, jumping behind the fence that's right beside him. Probably would have been my first move instead of trying to face down a 1,000-lb animal while armed with only a pumpkin spice latte but hey, what do I know. Bystanders quickly begin berating the man, telling him to knock it off and calling him a dumbass, but he's only focused on trying to get to work. At one point he even turns around to talk shit to somebody who's telling him to stop antagonizing the wild animal, and while he has his head turned the elk once again begins charging at him. This is obviously a pretty clear example of what NOT to do when you encounter a wild animal on the sidewalk - even if it means being late for work. Seems being a few minutes late is better than getting gored with those massive antlers. https://twitter.com/accuweather/status/1845555195935338983

It's too bad he didn't get bored but then they would have put down the wrong animal.
