Darius Rucker fans are changing their tune after his most recent stage incident. Over the weekend, when performing at the Riverfront Revival festival in his hometown, Rucker took a fall when singing "Alright." Thankfully, he looked "Alright" after he tripped on stage and fell over a ground monitor near the front of the stage. The fall could have been much worse if he hadn't been near the cameraman on the ground, who had kept Rucker from falling off the stage. Rucker bounced back up and laughed off the tumble, making jokes that he was getting old, which is the only way to come back from an embarrassing fall. “I’m old as f**k... We’ve been doing this all summer. I hadn’t fell once. But I busted my a– in my hometown… That’s funny f**king sh*t.”
At first glance, after the tumble went viral on social media, fans did not seem too concerned about his misstep and ending up on the ground. But the more fans watch the clip and the angles shown of the fall, the more some are concerned about Rucker. Social media has since dissected the clip further, investigating his singing and noticing that his vocal delivery is off throughout the night. Some fans quickly began leaving comments questioning if Rucker was just clumsy or if there was another underlying cause for the fall:
"You mean drunk af. That's not how Darius Rucker normally sings." "Damn, is bro going through something or just a bad night?" "Drunk." "He's loaded. He never sang the songs the way they're recorded when live, but I never heard him sound that bad." "He always does a great concert, but this sounded like he had a good time before he did his set, lol." "Yeah, he’s loaded, lol. I’ve seen him live, and he’s actually good lol." "Umm... his voice?" Rucker posted the clip himself yesterday after some fans began expressing their concern, once again putting a lighthearted spin on it. "Kept singing, though."
Regardless of what caused the fall, at least he isn't injured and took it like a champ, finishing out the song. https://www.instagram.com/p/DBJlt7CRdt2/
