Meeting your celebrity look alike... but in dog form. Over the years, I've met plenty of dogs named after celebrities. My neighbor, growing up, had a lab named Stevie Wonder, and the owners taught him to shake his head like Stevie Wonder. Getting that dog to do that trick was the coolest thing for a little kid. But it's not every day that celebrities can say they've met dogs named after themselves. Dolly Parton is among the few people who can say they have met their celebrity doppelganger dog, as Jennifer Aniston named her little white dog Dolly Parton. During a panel session from this year's CMA Fest, Dolly Parton hilariously recalled meeting the other Dolly Parton. "She invited me over for lunch and for me to meet her dog, her little white dog that she called Dolly Parton. I've been called a dog before, but this is the first time I've actually seen it.
But anyway, I said, 'Don't you be hollering around the neighborhood, "Dolly, don't pee on my carpet!" Don't you start doing stuff that's going to embarrass us both.'" I am sure many heads would turn in Aniston's neighborhood if she yelled for Dolly Parton. But instead of a striking blonde with an impressive rack, they'd get a white German shepherd. While this story is hilarious, the even better answer to the panel question entails why Parton was at Aniston's home to begin with. The two were chatting about a potential remake of Parton's hit film 9 to 5. "This was a few years back, but she said she'd love to do a remake of '9 to 5' with newer and younger people... I'm certainly hoping that they'd use my song, '9 to 5.'" Not using Parton's song in a remake would be criminal. But sign us up for a remake of the movie, and they better find a way to feature Parton in a scene or give her a smaller role so she can be a cast member. Although Parton noted that this conversation happened years ago, I hope this could come true someday... the reboot is still currently in the works. Keep your fingers crossed.
While you're here, you might as well fire up "9 to 5." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbxUSsFXYo4
