Adding another mugshot to the collection. Over the past couple weeks, "Lieutenant Dan" has replaced the Hawk Tuah girl as one of the biggest viral celebrities on the internet. The Florida Man, whose real name is Joseph Malinowski, went viral when he refused to evacuate his sailboat in Tampa Bar during Hurricane Milton. The one-legged content machine even compared himself to Noah riding out the storm in his ark: “I’m not going anywhere. The safest place to be in a flood is on a boat. Okay? We learned that with Noah. Everyone that stayed on land drowned. Noah and the animals lived. I’m fine.” https://twitter.com/BrianEntin/status/1844028080618393818 Well Malinowski made it through the storm unscathed, and he's gotten plenty of offers from his 15 minutes of fame. A GoFundMe set up for Lieutenant Dan has raised nearly $50,000, and streamer Adin Ross offered to buy the man a new $100,000 boat. But his viral success hasn't come without controversy after folks on the internet began digging into Malinowski's past and discovering that he's got quite the criminal record. Of course most of his arrests have been for petty offenses and things like failure to appear, but he does have some charges for battery on his record, including once trying to set a woman on fire, that have caused people to caution making Lieutenant Dan too famous. We've all seen this story before, right? Somebody goes viral and gets famous, makes a bunch of money, and then everybody realizes they're a shitty person? It's been happening since Al Gore invented the internet. Even his daughter has cautioned against making her father famous, warning everybody who was supporting him that they were going to "fucking put him in the grave." Nevertheless, Lieutenant Dan managed to land a deal with streaming platform Kick. And then promptly dropped a racial slur during his first stream. And now, in another unsurprising twist, he's back behind bars. Malinowski was arrested this morning on two outstanding warrants for failure to appear (they should know by now that this guy just ain't showing up for court), as well as a misdemeanor trespassing charge. According to TMZ, officers approached the man on Thursday and told him that he had to move his boat out of Bayshore Linear Park because conditions on the vessel were creating a public health hazard. They cited the lack of an "accessible marine sanitation device" and lack of a record of proper waste disposal in ordering to move his boat, but he refused and was still there this morning, so they hauled him off to jail. Records from the Henrico County Sheriff's Office list Malinowski's occupation as "TikTok Star."

But as much time as he's spent in there, he should probably be used to it by now... https://twitter.com/_AaronRyan/status/1844439542209839499
