Welp... it's confirmed that this trail camera is not bear proof. Bears, no matter the species, always seem to be getting into things. That's why anyone and everyone that lives in areas deemed as "Bear Country" have to keep things locked up. You've likely seen videos where bears go around and just try to open car doors, hoping that they are unlocked. They have a knack for the mischievous. That includes this curious bruin, who set its eyes on a trail camera and decided to do some investigating. Bears are considered to be very smart animals, with complex brains and advanced problem solving skills. I guess this particular bear had a problem with how this trail camera was mounted on the tree, and decided to
solve that problem by tearing it up - and using it as a back scratcher. Hunters walked up on the bear, catching it in its act of curiosity. The bear sniffed the trail camera up and down as it stood on its hind legs inspecting the contraption. It even utilized the device to scratch a pesky itch that it had, before it started messing with the camera's antenna. In the original video, you can hear one of the hunters ask the other: "Should I scare him off?" To which the other person replied: "That's up to you." And before either of them could do anything to potentially save the trail camera and its antenna (one of them fancy, connected-to-the-network trail cameras), the bear proceeded to tear the antenna - or at least its cover - right off. Which prompted the person to add to their answer:
"Too late." This angle is great, but now I really want to see the trail camera point of view: https://www.instagram.com/p/DAyWhwtRUky/
