“Can’t Wait To Get Back Out To Perform” – Giovannie & The Hired Guns Frontman Shares Update After Completing Drug & Alcohol Treatment Program
Giovannie is back and better than ever. In May, Giovannie & the Hired Guns frontman took to social media, sharing that he was taking a step back from the limelight to address issues he was facing with drugs and alcohol. As a musician whose brand was this larger-than-life rock star and party boy, this was a big move for Giovannie Yanez, who checked into a substance abuse program in an effort to get healthy. After taking time to work on himself, Gio told fans that he is ready to get back in the saddle. Upon completing his program, he shared his certificate, highlighting that he successfully...
Jason & Brittany Aldean Say “A Majority” Of Country Artists Are Conservatives Who Tell Them They Wish They Could Speak Out Like The Aldeans Do
Not exactly shy about their politics. Jason Aldean and his wife, Brittany, are some of the most outspoken voices in country music when it comes to politics. That was clear last week when Jason and Brittany were spotted sitting beside former President Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention, and Trump even gave the couple a shoutout during his speech accepting the GOP nomination for president: "And Jason, the biggest star in country music. Jason, thank you for being here. Jason thank you very much. Jason Aldean, he's good. I like his wife even better by the way. She's here." But according to...
Carrie Underwood Delivers Epic Cover Of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” During First-Ever Hawaii Shows
Few people can really do this song justice, because it's not easy to sing... But Carrie Underwood is one of those artists. Over the weekend, she played her first-ever shows in Hawaii at the Blaisdell Center for what sounds like a very excited (and loud) crowd. Carrie actually shared a post on Instagram saying she and her band think the first night was the "loudest crowd we’ve ever played for": https://www.instagram.com/p/C9p4PwKPXSp/?img_index=1 Pretty impressive, Hawaii. And during her set, where Carrie ran through hits like "Before He Cheats" and "Jesus Take the Wheel," she also delivered an epic cover of Journey's mega hit "Don't Stop Believin'." Of...
Sturgill Simpson Praises Willie Nelson For Struggling Against The Nashville Country Music Machine: “They Didn’t Know What To Do With Him”
Sturgill Simpson giving credit to one of the forefathers of outlaw country. In the modern day, there might not be an artist that fits the mold of outlaw more than Sturgill Simpson. He might not sound exactly like some of the greats of the outlaw movement, but his intentions and lyrical disposition undeniably mirror the likes of Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings. And I can't mention the outlaw movement without including the name Willie Nelson... and neither can Sturgill. When he was asked by Qobuz about his sound comparisons to Waylon Jennings, the topic of what is called the "Nashville Machine" came...
Miranda Lambert Seemingly Reveals Tracklist For Forthcoming (Unofficially Announced) New Album
ML10 coming soon? This week, fans have been receiving postcards from Miranda Lambert that seemingly feature names of the new songs that will be included on her forthcoming, unofficially announced album. And Miranda herself shared this cryptic video on social media, saying that she's "heading into a big week," which definitely hints at a pending album announcement of some kind. The postcard also had this great line: "On my last album, I was traveling. On my newest album, each song is a letter from home." Heading into a big week...💌 pic.twitter.com/rF4kpF3MDU — Miranda Lambert (@mirandalambert) July 22, 2024 Here's a look at some of the postcards,...
“I Feel Gross” -Summer Heat Takes Another Victim As Carly Pearce Shows Off Extreme Stage Sweat
Well, at least she owns it instead of having some fans call you out for your swass (cough, Morgan Wallen). The summer heat is not for the faint of heart, and I really do respect the heck of performers who bravely take the stage at outdoor venues. If I were a singer, you'd catch me in nothing but black to hide the sweat and grime, so I respect those brave enough to venture into colorful clothing while taking the stage. Carly Pearce got really with her fans after a recent show, sharing her post-performance glow...and sweat stains. Before hitting the stage, Pearce...
Sturgill Simpson Says Acting Hasn’t Been All That Creatively Rewarding: “It’s A Great Way To Kill Some Time”
Sturgill Simpson wears many different hats. Besides being a cosmic musician, Simpson has a number of different acting roles on his resume. When he needed a break from making music, Sturgill started trying to pick up movie roles. It wasn't an intentional decision, because he really just fell into it, as he explained in a recent Qobuz interview: "In 2017, I was pretty burnt out from the road. Weirdly, I don't know why, we got this call, wanted to go audition for a TV show. I was in L.A., had a day off. I was like, 'Why not?' So I went and did...
Trio Of Intoxicated Florida Bros Just Delivered The Boat Launch Fail Of The Year
A tragically hilarious Florida story - in four parts. Some people think they are built for the life on the water, but in reality, they often aren't. They could have a plethora of cheesy signs throughout their home with various lake-and-ocean-related phrases, and it really doesn't mean anything until it's time to really live life on the water. That's especially true at the boat ramp. For the uninitiated, the boat ramp is where the pros and amateurs are separated. It's all fun and games once you get out on the water, but first, you have to tackle the beast that is a subtly...
“Aren’t You Supposed To Be All Peace, Love & Inclusivity?” – Brittany Aldean On Maren Morris Attacking Her While Claiming To Be “Pro-Woman”
Calling out the hypocrisy. Of course by now the history between Maren Morris and Brittany Aldean, the wife of country singer Jason Aldean, has been well documented. In case you need a quick refresher, Brittany shared a video of herself putting on makeup with the caption: "I'd really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life" Maren Morris responded to a post from fellow country singer Cassadee Pope by calling Brittany "Insurrection Barbie." "It's so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ons and zip it, insurrection Barbie." Brittany...
Owner Of McKamey Manor, The Tennessee Haunted House Accused Of Being A “Torture Chamber,” Charged With Attempted Murder
If only there were signs that this guy was a loose cannon... The owner of McKamey Manor, the most notorious "haunted house" in the country, is in hot water - but not because of his controversial Halloween attraction. Russ McKamey has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, rape and domestic assault after being arrested on Friday for allegedly attempting to kill his girlfriend on multiple occasions. According to the arrest affidavit, McKamey allegedly strangled his girlfriend to the point that she lost consciousness. And on the day of the arrest, he reportedly raped and strangled her once again before being taken into custody....
Sturgill Simpson On Comparisons To Waylon Jennings: “I Never Listened Much To Waylon Until I Met His Son”
Sturgill Simpson has long been compared to Waylon Jennings. From the very first moment Sturgill got his foot in the door with country music, many fans and critics have decided to slap the label of "he sounds like Waylon" on his records. Though they might share some similarities vocally, Simpson cleared the air in a recent interview with Qobuz, saying that the comparison is pretty much coincidental. Though he did give plenty of praise to Waylon, and described why his first record - High Top Mountain - leads many to think he was doing somewhat of a Jennings impersonation, Sturgill suggests he...
Cody Jinks & Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr Debut New Duet, “In My Blood”
This is a duo I've wanted to see for quite some time. Cody Jinks is a modern-day Texas outlaw, and he is teaming up with the frontman from one of the best southern rock bands in the business, Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke. Last week, Jinks performed a show in Canandaigua, New York, with Blackberry Smoke opening for him. Talk about a killer lineup. https://twitter.com/CodyJinksMusic/status/1814395842465505441 During Jinks' set, he brought out Starr and told the crowd that they had been penning a new tune together and wanted to share it for the first time on stage that night. "A brand new song... acoustic, that we literally...
University Of Wisconsin FINALLY Approves Alcohol Sales At Their Sporting Events
Good news for BIG Ten fans. Specifically, the Wisconsin Badger faithful. For too long of a time, the BIG Ten's "drunkest city" has been kept from enjoying cold brewskis while cheering on their favorite team. But now, I'm sure the people of Madison, Wisconsin are dancing in the streets about the exciting, alcohol-adjacent news. The beer is finally here. Not only beer, but a number of other alcoholic beverages. Soon, residents of Madison - a city voted the fourth drunkest in the United States - will have more alcoholic options than they could have dreamed of at Badger sporting events. And most importantly,...
“Stop Being Weirdos On The Internet” – Zach Bryan Responds After Rumors That He Bailed On Noah Kahan Fenway Park Concert
No issues here. Zach Bryan has responded to internet rumors that popped up over the weekend of trouble between him and his friend, folk pop singer Noah Kahan, after blind rumor posted to celebrity gossip site Deuxmoi. The rumors began after Kahan, the folk pop superstar, played two massive shows at Fenway Park over the weekend - and announced on night 2 that he had a "great guest" lined up but that "it didn't work out." @shopsunflowers i wonder who the guest would’ve been #noahkahan ♬ original sound - shopsunflowers Noah was featured on Zach's song "Sarah's Place" from his 2023 EP Boys of...
Watching ‘Twisters’ In 4DX Looks Like It Will Rock Your Sh*t
Twisters hit the theater over the weekend, already grossing an astonishing $123.2 million so far. The marketing leading up to the film's release was incredible. It teased the motion picture starring Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones and the soundtrack, which featured today's most prominent names in country music. The combination of both a great film and stellar music makes for a cultural phenomenon, and Twisters has done just that. The action-packed follow-up to the 1996 blockbuster Twister showcases a fictional story but simulates the exhilarating yet terrifying feeling of chasing storms. With the rumbles of thunder booming and the wind rushing through the...
Stage Catches On Fire During Kane Brown Concert At Fenway Park
Trying to send up his location with smoke signals? Kane Brown was in Boston for a show at Fenway Park on Saturday, which means that the Red Sox losing to the MLB basement-dwelling Oakland Athletics was only the second worst thing to happen at Fenway over the past 10 days. But anyway, I digress. During the show, a fire broke out on the rigging above the stage, forcing the show to come to a halt as crews worked to scale the scaffolding and extinguish the blaze. https://twitter.com/jlgolson/status/1814844537568657485 The fire was quickly extinguished, and the concert was able to resume after only being delayed by...
Post Malone To Release “Guy For That” Featuring Luke Combs This Friday
Coming this Friday. This afternoon, Post Malone announced that he's dropping the next song from his forthcoming country album F-1 Trillion called "Guy For That" this Friday, June 26th, which features country superstar Luke Combs. It’s one that Posty actually teased a while back, and has a super catchy, upbeat melody that finds the two of them reminiscing on a lost love and how they have a guy for a lot of things, but no one to help fix her heart and “put her tires back in the drive”: “Know a VIP up at MIT, And he still won’t let me fly the time machine, Someone...
Charles Wesley Godwin To Perform On ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’ Tonight
Charles Wesley Godwin on the Late Show stage. I don't know about you all, but I'm here for any CWG performance I can get. The West Virginia native certainly knows how to put on a show, and the Late Show with Stephen Colbert audience is going to find that out tonight. The rising country star is set to perform on the late night program to finish out the show. Back in February, Godwin and his band - The Allegheny High - made their late night debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! I'll get to more on that here in a bit, but with...
Tom Cruise Knocked Rob Lowe Out Cold In Hotel Hallway Boxing Match When They Were Filming ‘The Outsiders’ In 1982
The Outsiders wasn't only that edgy, fun S.E. Hinton novel that many of us read early in our schooldays. It was adapted into a rather low-key feature film back in 1983, serving as the career launchpad for many in the loaded ensemble cast. The likes of Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio and Emilio Estevez were part of the gang in the Francis Ford Coppola-directed flick. So were none other than Tom Cruise and Rob Lowe. Cruise has gone on to become arguably the biggest movie star of all-time, and Lowe isn't doing so bad for himself either. In an clip...
