Talking a lot of sh*t behind a keyboard. Obviously Jessie Murph heard the complaints about her duet with Koe Wetze l, "High Road," that was released back in June. Koe had been teasing the song for a while, though there was no indication that it was going to be a duet. So when the song officially dropped and fans heard Murph singing alongside Koe...well, they weren't thrilled, to put it mildly. There were plenty of nasty comments about Murph's feature, claiming that she "ruined" the song and complaining about her voice and pretty much anything else people could complain about. Koe ended up releasing a solo version of "High Road" last month, but he also defended his decision to include Murph on the original:
"I believed in this version since Jessie cut her part on it. I think she kind of made the song what it is, and so yeah, that song, it fit with both of us. It fit with us both very well." And when Koe released his solo version, Murph expressed her excitement - because she would no longer have to deal with the hate from his fans:

Now, Murph is opening up about all of the nasty comments about her feature on the song. During an appearance on Theo Von's This Past Weekend podcast, the singer was asked why she got so much hate over the duet. And of course the answer was really just "because she was on the song." "I think they were just pissed that it wasn't just him... But they were PISSED. I got dogged." And asked for her reaction, Murph admits it got to her: "It just made me mad. Because nobody would say that to me in person. It feels so personal." But she also admitted that sometimes she can't help herself but respond to the hateful comments:
"That's something I'm trying to figure out, because I've got such a short temper. So I've gotta figure out how to navigate it." Honestly, as somebody who works on the internet and social media I feel like the first rule is always: Don't read the comments. You'll be better off for it.
