This bottle was produced exclusively for Sam’s Liquor in Chicago and revives a brand name used by Julian III and his father, Julian Jr., who founded JP Van Winkle & Son in 1972. The company Julian III ran at Hoffman was also called the Commonwealth Distillery Co., a name that appears on this bottle’s label, adding a layer of nostalgia and historical significance.
