WHITE BEAR LAKE — Thomas Cusciotta exploded for 37 points to lead White Bear Lake, but Stillwater relied on a more balanced attack to prevail 72-58 in a Suburban East Conference boys basketball game on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at White Bear Lake High School.

Henry Zollar delivered 23 points and Brett Hilde added 14 as the Ponies (6-10 SEC, 12-12) snapped a two-game losing streak. Joe Fredkove chipped in with 12 points and Joe Hoheisel notched a season-high 11 for Stillwater, which jumped out to a 38-26 halftime lead.

Cusciotta, a 6-foot-4 senior, more than doubled his 14.9 season scoring average and easily surpassed the 11 points he scored against the Ponies in a five-point victory on Jan. 16. Colin Piper added 10 points for the Bears (3-13, 3-19).

The Ponies were the last conference team to defeat the Raptors (14-2 SEC, 16-7), who have reeled off 12 straight league victories since falling to the Ponies 59-57 on Jan. 3 — including a victory over SEC leader Cretin-Derham Hall (15-1, 19-4).

Stillwater charged back in the second half, but were unable to make catch up after trailing 40-24 at halftime.
