Design review next week for ‘U-shape’ development that will add 120+ new homes to Broadway’s Bait Shop block
A project that will reshape a northern block of Broadway and demolish the more than 100-year-old structure home to Bait Shop and TRIBE Fitness to make way for a new six-story, 122-unit apartment building with retail and three live-work units plus underground parking for more than 100 vehicles will come before the East Design Review Board next week in what could be the project’s final step in the city’s public design process.
Nonprofits to build affordable housing near Mount Baker station
More than 400 new housing units will be built near the Link Light Rail Mount Baker station, including affordable housing. The City of Seattle Office of Housing announced a partnership with Mercy Housing Northwest and El Centro de la Raza to develop these new housing units to “promote community-centered development” in the neighborhood, according to a press release.

A Seattle area man faces serious charges after a grand jury indictment on allegations of distributing controlled substances and gun possession linked to his purported drug dealing activities in Seattle neighborhoods and homeless encampments. The U.S. Attorney's Office announced that 48-year-old Simon Offord is currently held in federal custody. Cranton selected by Seattle in third round of MLB Draft
Former Kansas pitcher Hunter Cranton was picked in the third round of the MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday, becoming the first Jayhawk selected in five years. He had been ranked as MLB.com’s No. 213 prospect but went 91st overall, at a pick with an estimated value of $812,900.
