Holland Arrested on Warrant
A Carmi woman spent her Fourth of July behind bars. 27-year-old Senekqua Holland was arrested by Carmi Police on a White County warrant for Failure to Appear on an Aggravated Battery of a Peace Officer charge that happened back in 2022. Holland pled guilty to the charge back in December of 2022. In May of this year, Holland was arrested for another Battery charge and was ordered anger management, along with two years of conditional discharge. Holland will remain in jail for the Failure to Appear warrant for the charge back in 2022.

Order of Protection Violation Lands Man Behind Bars with a New Charge Added
A man from Mt. Vernon, Indiana, sits behind bars at the White County Jail. Mark Davis was noticed by police at Huck’s. Aware that Davis had an arrest warrant, the police pulled him over once he left Huck’s and advised him of his Unlawful Violation of an Order of Protection warrant.

Carmi License Branch to Stay in Carmi; Moving to SIC Campus
State Representative Dave Severin confirms that the Carmi License Branch will remain in Carmi. It’s moving though. WROY/WRUL News talked with the legislator Tuesday afternoon and he says the branch will be open at it’s Oak Street location for the final day on Wednesday. The office will be closed on Thursday so staff can move and it will re-open in it’s new “temporary pop up” location within the SIC Carmi campus at 1700 College Avenue on Friday at 8:30am. Severin says he and Senator Terri Bryant will be on location Friday morning along with new SIC President Karen Weiss. The new location is being designated as temporary until a formal presentation and approval can be gained at the July 14th SIC Trustee meeting.
