West Baltimore community demands inclusion in Safe Streets or money to fight crime
BALTIMORE -- A West Baltimore community is filing a complaint against the city and asking for $5 million to fund their crime plan.Matthew Henson neighborhood residents argue they are not included in Baltimore's Safe Streets boundaries, a program geared toward crime reduction, and they want the money to address the crime in their community.Doc Cheatham, President of the Matthew Henson community, said the complaint is more about the safety than it is about the money.Community leaders are giving the city the option to either redraw the boundaries for Safe Streets or give them the money to create their own crime...

15-year-old turns himself in over shooting death of teen at Mondawmin Metro Station
BALTIMORE - A 15-year-old turned himself in and has been charged in the shooting death of a 14-year-old at the Mondawmin Metro Station.Jasper Davis was killed on July 21 following a shooting at the metro station in the 2300 block of Liberty Heights Avenue. A 19-year-old was also injured in the shooting.The 15-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder.

Fired Baltimore health commissioner reportedly under criminal investigation
BALTIMORE - Former Baltimore City Health Commissioner Dr. Ihuoma Emenuga was fired after Mayor Brandon Scott learned she was under a criminal investigation, according to WJZ's media partner The Baltimore Banner.Emenuga was nominated by Scott last November and sworn in back in March to run the health department.
