Hundreds of people gathered Saturday for the annual Big Boyz Ferris Avenue Reunion BBQ, an event that featured free food, music, and a somber tribute to those lost from the community. The event honored lives lost to medical illness, mental health, gun violence, and domestic violence. "It plays a role because we've had multiple people who were shot and killed by gun violence, not just from White Plains but Westchester County as a whole," said Stephanie Reed, a member of the New Generation organization. Ramsease Potillo, a member of Big Boyz, emphasized the importance of community and remembrance. "The importance is of everyone getting together and enjoying life because we're not promised… we're not promised to be here," Potillo said. The family and friends of Rose-Zella Munroe, who was shot and killed in Rockland County earlier this year by her ex-boyfriend, awarded four local students with scholarships in her name. "
