Budding hairdresser shot to death in Philadelphia years ago; mother seeks justice
Four years ago, 24-year-old Ahmad Morales was shot and killed in Philadelphia.Now, for the first time, his mother is talking to Action News about her son and what happened on that fateful day.Tamika Morales is a hairdresser and said her son, Ahmad, was following in her footsteps."He started barbering and started at 16 and that's what he was doing up until, you know, his passing," Tamika said.On July 3, 2020, Tamika said she hadn't heard from Ahmad all day, which was unusual. No injuries reported after car smashes into Wendy's in Delaware County
A vehicle slammed into a Wendy's restaurant in Delaware County on Saturday night.It happened just after 6 p.m. at the location on Walnut Street in Upper Darby.When fire and police departments arrived on the scene, the entire front window was destroyed. A car was also seen inside the Wendy's.The Action Cam caught some of the damage on video.According to authorities, no one was injured as a result of the crash. Police have not yet said what led to the collision.There's also no word yet on whether charges will be filed.
Splash Pad for Davy Dedication at Womelsdorf Swimming Pool
The community of Womelsdorf is set to celebrate the dedication of a new all-abilities splash pad at Womelsdorf Swimming Pool in honor of Davy Craft, a courageous 12-year-old boy born with Baraitser-Winter syndrome, a condition diagnosed in only 50 people in the world. The dedication ceremony will take place on Thursday, July 11, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a rain date scheduled for Saturday, July 13.
Local man to ride 1,000 miles in support of cancer research
The Keystone State Riders will be biking in September from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia to raise cancer research funds for Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center. The Keystone State Ride is a six-day bike journey that will average 75 miles a day. The KSR event is being organized by Dave Wellborn of Lewes, a three-time cancer survivor.

New state law will offer added protections for victims of data breaches
Harrisburg, Pa. — A new state law will help protect consumers impacted by data breaches. Act 33 of 2024 requires an impacted organization to provide a free credit report and one year of credit monitoring to affected consumers. It also strengthens notification requirements and mandates notification of the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General if a data breach occurs in the Commonwealth, according to the state legislature. 49 local players selected to All-State Softball Team
On Friday morning, the Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association Committee released its 2024 All-State team. 49 local players earned statewide honors. DuBois Central Catholic pitcher Rylee Kulbatsky won pitcher of the year for Class 1A. Five Cardinals were selected after they won the PIAA Class 1A softball championship in June.
