    Anthony Wayne boys finish in tie for sixth at PGA National Invitational

    FRISCO, Texas — Anthony Wayne boys golf finished a solid performance at the PGA National Invitational on Wednesday, coming in tied for sixth out of 50 teams with a final team score of an 8-over 872.

    The Generals shot a 299 in the third and final round, dropping from a fourth-place tie through two rounds. Alpharetta Rivers Academy of Georgia won the title with a 12-under 852, seven strokes better than the runner-up.

    AW finished level with Tennessee’s Ensworth High School, which shot a 289 on Wednesday to climb into the tie for sixth.

    Logan Sutto was Anthony Wayne’s best individual Wednesday with a 68, and he led the Generals for the tournament with a 207, tying him for third on the individual leaderboard. Sutto was five strokes behind individual champion Josiah Hakala of Mascenic Regional High School in New Hampshire.

    Also for AW, Myles Murphy tied for 66th with a 221, Michael Distefano tied for 76th with a 223, and Ted Robertson and Ian Briars tied for 97th with scores of 225.
