    PREP BASEBALL: Big Foot snaps losing streak with 13-1 win over Whitewater

    WHITEWATER, Wis.—The Big Foot baseball team snapped a three-game losing streak and got back in the win column by using some strong at-bats to help down Whitewater 13-1 in five innings on Friday evening.

    The Chiefs (2-3) racked up eight hits and drew 10 walks to jump all over the Whippets.

    Whitewater (0-6) surrendered four runs in the third, and the Chiefs poured on seven runs in the fourth to turn the game into a rout.

    Will Wojcik had a team-high three hits and knocked in a run while Connor Weeks added two hits and two walks. Skylar Jacobs had two hits and scored a run while Evan Henningfeld had two RBI.

    Matt Haeberlin went four innings on the mound and allowed two hits and two walks with four strikeouts.

    • CLINTON 3-14, EAST TROY 5-0: The Cougars rebounded for a big win over the hosting Trojans in the nightcap of Saturday’s doubleheader after East Troy had rallied in the first game for a close victory.

    Clinton held a 3-0 lead before the Trojans tied it up with three runs in the sixth and then scored a pair in the seventh to complete the comeback.

    Payton Whalen, Logan Thill and Collin Gill each had two hits in the setback. Thill went six innings and allowed three runs, but none were earned, on three hits and four strikeouts.

    Clinton (2-2) jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings and poured on seven runs on the Trojans (4-2) in the fourth to shorten the second game to five innings.

    Thill went 3-for-4 with three runs while Gavin Wesling had three hits and finished with a whopping eight RBI after knocking in three on a triple in the fourth and three on a homer in the second. Bryce Phillips also had two RBI.

    Tim Arnold earned the win with five three-hit innings. He struck out five.

    • MOUNT HOREB 6, BRODHEAD/JUDA 5: The Cardinals committed five errors and the visiting Vikings used a five-run fifth inning to surge ahead for the win on Friday.

    Sam Searls had two hits, including a two-run single, while Clayton Elliott had an RBI single in the first. Elliott also drove home a run on an error in the seventh before Mount Horeb (5-0) got three-straight strikeouts to end the game.

    Evan Senobe took the loss for Brodhead/Juda (2-3) after allowing six runs (two earned) on three hits with seven strikeouts.

    • HONONEGAH 16, JEFFERSON 0: Drake Broege blasted a two-run homer for the Indians and Logan Edward smacked a one-run triple as the J-Hawks fell in four innings on Friday.

    Hosting Hononegah scored six runs in the first and nine in the third as it drew 10 base on balls and recorded eight hits. Evan Sayles had two hits, a pair of RBI singles, while Landen Seymour and Edward finished with two RBI. Easton Stewart and Jakob DeLeo both doubled.

    Stewart didn’t allow a hit, walked three and struck out eight Jefferson (1-9) batters in three innings while Ian Blakenship allowed one hit in one inning of work.

    • GRANT COMMUNITY 10, HONONEGAH 9: The Indians led 7-2 before the Bulldogs scored five in the fifth and three in the sixth to come away with the close victory.

    Bryce Ewing whacked a three-run homer as part of a five-run fourth. Seymour, Sayles, Cameron Nelson and Ewing all finished with two hits.

    But Hononegah committed a pair of errors and allowed a homer in the fifth and a two-run single in the sixth put Grant (8-4) ahead for good as Seymour’s one-run single in the seventh was followed up by two strikeouts.

    Nolan Mabie started and allowed five hits and seven runs (one earned) with three strikeouts.

    • SOUTH BELOIT 4-5, WESTMINSTER CHRISTIAN 18-9: The SoBos remained winless on the season after being unable to keep up with the hot-hitting Warriors in a doubleheader Saturday.

    Westminster (7-2-1) poured on 14 runs in the fifth inning to enforce the mercy rule. South Beloit had seven hits in the loss as JT Sanders went 3-for-3 with two runs while Richard Carlson blasted a two-run homer. Jacob Wilhite also drove in two runs.

    In game two, South Beloit (0-8) plated a run in the fifth and three in the sixth but its rally ultimately came up short as it committed seven total errors. Carlson smacked a two-run double in the fifth to make it 8-2. JT Sanders had the SoBos’ only other hit but they did draw 12 walks.

    • HUSTISFORD/DODGELAND 10, PARKVIEW 8: The Vikings pulled within two runs in the sixth but couldn’t complete the comeback as it fell to 0-6 on the season.

    Parkview held a 5-1 lead after two but H/D (1-2) scored four runs in the fourth and three in the fifth to take a 10-6 lead.

    Gehrig Grenawalt went 4-for-5 with with three runs while Christrian Hobon went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Hobon started and threw 3 1-3 innings. He struck out three while allowing seven runs (three earned) on six hits and four walks.

    • GENOA-KINGSTON 11, NORTH BOONE 10: The Cogs came back from a 10-3 deficit by scoring five in the sixth and three in the seventh to beat the Vikings on Friday.

    North Boone (12-5, 3-2) got the scoring started with Chris Doetch’s homer in the first and RJ Wolski blasted a three-run bomb in a seven-run fourth.

    But the Cogs (3-12, 3-3), who outhit their BNC rivals 11-8, got the walk-off win wih a single off Gage Vermett, the last of four pitchers to take the mound for the Vikings.

    Eli Lopez, Doetch and Wolski all had two hits for North Boone.
