Summerville Recreation 8U Boys and Girls Win State Championships
The Summerville Recreation 8U Boys Baseball and 8U Girls Softball teams both won the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) State Championship tournaments in Whitfield County, Georgia on Thursday, June 27th. The girls went undefeated in the tournament (4-0), and the boys finished (5-1). Parks and Recreation Director Bo Chamlee said, “I don’t ever recall two Summerville teams winning State Championships in the same year. We have some excellent talent representing the city of Summerville and Chattooga County.”
