    Whitmire keeps win streak alive with victory over Thornwell on Senior Day

    WHITMIRE, S.C. — Whitmire(13-6, 9-1 region 2-A) continue their winning streak on Tuesday, April 16 as they defeated Thornwell(5-15, 4-6 region 2-A). The Wolverines shutout the Saints with a 10-0 victory on senior day.

    Imari Brown, Isabella Gilliam, Ireland Hendrix and Bonnie Evans were the four seniors celebrated by the Whitmire faculty, staff and community at the game.

    The Wolverines then followed up Tuesday’s win with another 2-1 victory over Lewisville at home. This marked the fourth straight win.

    Then, Whitmire went to Thornwell on Friday night and had themselves another shutout victory. They beat the Saints 17-0 to earn their eighth shutout this season and fourth in five games. The Wolverines enter the last week of the regular season on a five game winning streak.

    They will face-off against Clinton at home on April 22. The Wolverines will then travel to Chester and Dixie for two games on back-to-back days on April 24 and April 25. Whitmire is currently tied with Dixie for first place in their region and have a chance to win the region championship with a victory against them on Thursday.
