WHITNEY POINT, NY (WIVT/WBGH) — A Nashville artist who grew up in Whitney Point is back at the Broome County Fairgrounds this weekend to perform in front of his home crowd.

Outlaw Country rock singer and songwriter Kolby Oakley is performing his Hometown Concert tomorrow evening, July 13. This is his third straight year of coming back and performing in his hometown.

This afternoon, Oakley and his team were setting up the venue, including the stage, speaker systems and three large video boards.

Oakley has opened for some of country music’s biggest stars, such as the Zac Brown Band, Keith Urban, and Florida Georgia Line. He says the music is upbeat, and will get everyone on their feet.

“We have a little bit of Southern rock in there, we got the country lyrics, we like to rock it up, it’s high energy. We try to make it as crowd participating as possible. I want people leaving here feeling good and had a great time,” Oakley said.

The gates will open at 5 p.m. tomorrow with opening performances by Alyssa Crosby, Nick Adams and others. Admission also enters you in a chance to win a three-day RV rental from Wilkins RV.

Oakley says all of the profit made from the concert will go to local food banks to battle food insecurity. Tickets are $30 today, but will go up to $40 as we get closer to show time.
