Fourth-grader spends a day as Dothan’s mayor

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A student at Northside Methodist Academy got to experience what it was like to be the mayor of the Circle City for one day.

Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba met Stedman McGhee at Northside Methodist Academy at 9:00 a.m. Friday to begin their busy day.

During McGhee’s rule as Mayor, Saliba took him on tours of the Wiregrass Public Safety Center, where he saw demonstrations from the Dothan Police and Fire Departments, Fire Station 1, the Dothan Police Department, and the Mayor’s Office.

At the end of the day, McGhee had an interview with the media and returned to Northside Methodist.

McGhee won the opportunity to be Dothan’s Mayor for the Day through a fundraiser sponsored by the Southeast Health Foundation.
