DARLINGTON, S.C. ( WGHP ) — It’s throwback weekend at Darlington Raceway as many teams give their racecars an old-school look from something in NASCAR or racing history.

The paint schemes are personal to the team or the driver, picked on a piece of racing history or nostalgia.

Sometimes the scheme is based on a look from the same number the team runs currently, throwing back to a look ran by that same number, sometimes a team picks a theme because it’s just fun for them or their current sponsors.

You’ll see nods to old schemes like the classic Green and White Harry Gant Skoal Bandit, the Kyle Petty Hot Wheels era look, a Days of Thunder car, an early old-school Dale Earnhardt Wrangler Ford car, and more.
