69-year-old arrested for trafficking drugs after task force finds meth, mushrooms and marijuana

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Ala. ( WHNT ) — The Lauderdale County Drug Task Force arrested a man after drug dealing activities were investigated at a home.

The Lauderdale County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a home in Cloverdale on July 26. The Florence/Lauderdale Special Operations team entered and secured the residence.

The search warrant was for drug dealing activities of one of the residents in the home, 69-year-old John Joseph Cabral Jr.

The special operations teams found around 32 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, mushrooms and drug paraphernalia after searching the home.

Cabral Jr. was arrested and charged with:

• Trafficking meth
• Unlawful possession of a controlled substance
• 2nd degree unlawful possession of marijuana
• Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia

Agents with the task force said additional charges are expected.
