MCSO: Man arrested for electronic solicitation of child

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. ( WHNT ) — A Grant man was arrested for sex crimes involving a child after investigators searched his house on Tuesday.

On August 7, Marshall County Investigators said they were contacted by a neighboring agency for a report of a sex crime involving a child in Marshall County.

Investigators with the Marshall County Criminal Investigation Division said on August 13, they searched a home and took electronic devices.

After an interview with the reported offender, investigators got an arrest warrant for Adam Wayne Atchley, 37 of Grant.

Atchley was charged with one count of electronic solicitation of a child and one count of transmitting obscene material to a child.

He was taken to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and his bond is set at $40,000.
