FYFFE, Ala. (WHNT) — Fyffe senior running back Logan Anderson has had plenty of success in a Red Devil’s uniform.

He’s been a part of a back-to-back state championship run, and just a couple of weeks ago he announced his commitment to continue his football career at Clemson.

But right now, he’s gearing up for his final year in a red devils’ uniform.

“I feel great I feel fast feel smooth feel quick so maybe we’ll come out next week like at our jamboree and do good,” said Anderson.

Fyffe football head coach Paul Benefield also hopes that Logan does well.

The senior may have committed to Clemson as a linebacker, but he’s also played several games as a running back.

Anderson is tall and quick, so he’s been an easy pick for that RB spot but coach Benefield hopes he can play more defense this season”

“He’s just had to run the ball so much he hasn’t gotten to play linebacker all the time like we want but this year we hope we can rest him some is he can play defense like he really can,” said coach Benefield.

One of Logan’s goals before heading into the year was to decide which college he would further his football career with, and that has allowed the senior to alleviate some stress.

“That was the big reason why I committed as early as I did i didn’t want to worry about going through the season and going on other visits and going to other colleges i wanted to make my decision now and just be calm and just play football my senior year,” said Anderson.

But the stress is just ramping up for Logan and the Red Devils as that first week of football approaches.

“I just hope that we all do good as team and go out every week with a good attitude that’s really the only goal I have is we go out there and play our hardest…bringing home a state championship with my teammates that would be the best feeling make coach Benefield happy,” said the senior.

Fyffe has week zero open so they will start their season on the road on August 29 facing Pisgah.
