GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. ( WHNT ) — The Guntersville Police Department is asking for the public’s help after officers conducted a search warrant at a local boat dealership.

On August 23, the Guntersville Police Department, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division, the Marshall County Drug Task Force and the Marshall County District Attorney’s Office conducted a search warrant at Boat Mart.

The local boat dealership was being inspected because there was evidence that the dealership was selling boats on consignment but failing to pay the boat owners for the sale of their boats.

During the search, officers found evidence related to the accused fraud activity. GPD said the investigation is ongoing and charges are expected once evidence has been reviewed.

The police department asks individuals who believe they have been affected by similar practices at Boat Mart or any other business to report the incidents. Victims or witnesses can contact GPD at (256) 571-7571 or email investigations@guntersvilleal.gov.
